1-2: we took a ride down to Torrance, ate some real soba and did some grocery shopping at Nijiya. A nice weekday vacation :)

1-3: at a studio in Hoboken, NJ today for the GAP. Catching an evening flight to come home to LA...

1: mr. b is in NYC today. Having a drink with our favorite nyt magazine stylist at The Smile (they serve good breakfast...miss their almost butter....)

05.23-27.11 venice, italy
1-2: room 103 this week. each room has a venetian glass chandelier, but this is the first one i've seen that uses just clear glass. it's quite pretty. and my window opened up to the view of the town church. it never failed to ring it's bells at every hour and half hour. not very helpful when you're jet lagged and trying to go back to sleep at 3am...

1: driving back from work, i saw a crisp shadow of a palm tree. i tried to imagine it without all of the signage and other stuff going on around it....

1: we discovered a small grocery store in echo park called Cook Book. They had a super well edited selection of seasonal vegetables (which were delicious !) , and they sell Mast Brothers chocolate....good stuff.

1-2: a quick getaway from the daily routine, we came to the beach with the beasts for a long weekend. it's not the same view as we have back home in guethary, but it was nice to wake up to the view of the ocean.

1: breakfast in italy. finally found a morning fruit and vegetable stand with incredible produce. so i brought these little red guys back to my room, borrowed a butter knife and plate and cut them up in front of my bathroom sink. whatever works...

1: we got in the car with the pups to run errands in town, but somehow we ended up in palm springs. much better than errands...
